You’ve Got Hitchikers and They’re On the Inside
Intestinal parasites are the Number One killer in the world. No question about it. Indeed they have been since the beginning of time and it looks like there’s no risk of parasites being toppled from their strong position in the Leading Cause of Death League Tables. Here are some comparisons:
Approximate numbers of people killed:
Black Death* …….. 1347 – 1350 ……… Up to 1 million
Spanish Flu ………. 1918 …… Between 20 – 40 million
World War ………… 1914 – 1918………………………. 60 million +
Iraqis since the Bush-Blair invasion…………………….1 million +
Annual deaths for parasites are up to 6 million people a year
Oh and by the way, the cause of Black Death? The Oriental Rat Flea, a blood sucking parasite.
Let’s take a look at infection levels around the world. Of a total global population numbering about 7 BILLION the total number of people estimated to be infected from parasites comes to over 3.5 billion. And that figure is probably on the conservative side.
There are over 300 million new cases of acute malariainfection each year. Malaria is brought about by a parasite carried by female mosquitoes. Medical figures estimate that diseases caused by roundworm infections at any particular time to be 2,800 million; the same guesstimates put worldwide illnesses from hookworm at 1,200 million and threadworm/pinworm contagions at 200 million. Parasitologists are only aware of 4000 types of parasite, 1000 of which can infest the human body. If you own a pet cat I’d put cash on you having a parasite known as toxoplasma gondii. Almost 100% of cat owners carry this parasite.
Visit the health section of a book shop and you will no doubt find any number of publications on Heart Disease, Stress and Cancer. Why isn’t there a single book about Parasites? NOT ONE! Switch on your laptop and Google these words: ‘Cancer ‘ you’ll find about 774 million references (though some of those will relate to astrology); ‘Heart Disease ‘ has 241 million and ‘Stress ‘ comes third with a mere 129 million results. Yet the No. 1 cause of death gets a lowly 31 million references.
Why so few?
The ‘why’ is simple – parasites will always mimic the leading indicators of other diseases such as cancer, low blood sugar, heart problems. We tend to classify an condition by the symptoms it shows us, not fully understanding what’s really happening. Doctors, not familiar with the tell-tale signs of parasitic invasion instead diagnose something they are more familiar with. Master Herbalist Bachir Aboukhazaal from Damascus, Syria showed us that until our parasites are properly dealt with, any health conditions will likely return over and over again. For over 2000 years the Aboukhazaal family have been preparing herbal remedies now known by the brand name Ancient Herbal Remedies.
Our focus currently is on increasing people’s awareness and understanding, and bringing to their attention the growing parasite menace. When someone asks me to tell them what parasites might look like, I simply ask them to remember the memorable bar room scene in the original Star Wars film!
